Jack in the browser
Reach the Jack running on your computer from your browser.
Connect your computer
The web app needs Pro or a plan above it; an active Pro trial counts. It works through Jack on your computer rather than running your coworkers on a new cloud computer.
- Install Jack, sign in and finish setup in the desktop app.
- Open Settings → Jack in the browser and select Connect. Follow the browser code/sign-in instructions with the same Jack account.
- Wait for the connection to be online. If it has not connected after the checks finish, use Check connection.
- Open the Jack web app and sign in with the same account. Keep the connected computer awake and Jack running.
If the computer cannot be reached
Connect Jack on your computer means this account has no registered Runtime. Install and connect it from desktop Settings, then select Check again in the browser.
Jack on your computer isn’t reachable means the registered computer is offline. Check that it is on and online, that Jack is open there, and that Settings → Jack in the browser shows a connection. Use Try again; the browser returns when the Runtime reconnects.
Desktop-only actions
Some actions, including teaching tasks and managing project secrets, require the desktop app. When the browser says Available in the desktop app, continue on the computer. A Free account can keep using desktop Jack with one engine.
